I am trying to set up my friends web-cam on her computer. She is using windows live messenger. I however am using a mac. I just want to know if there is someway for us to have a video conversation using these 2 different systems?

Because it's a Microsoft product running on a Mac, it doesn't feature full support like it would running on windows. Webcam is one example.
That doesn't mean no, though. You can use SKYPE! YAY!
It's not just a free internet phone call application - when you are phoning PC to PC you can also have a webcam function.
